Mindful Compassion Group Therapy Programs, Fall 2017

There are currently two program days/times to choose from for the fall 2017 iteration of the mindful compassion group therapy program I offer

  1. Mindful Compassion Group Therapy Program for Adults—Wednesday afternoons from 1:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. starting September 27th, 2017 and running until December 13th, 2017* (*These are slightly revised start and end dates as of September 12, 2017) —Update: Registration is now closed.
  1. Mindful Compassion Group Therapy Program for Adults—Monday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. starting September 25th and running until December 18th, 2017 (no session on October 9th, 2017) —Update: Registration is now closed.

The 12-session mindful compassion group therapy program is about learning to make friends with yourself: to meet yourself in whatever you are experiencing with understanding, patience, and support. It is about learning helpful ways to work with the thoughts and emotions that arise in you – including with the self-criticizing/shaming kinds of thoughts and the painful kinds of emotions. It about supporting you in approaching and navigating your inner and outer experiences with compassion, wisdom, and courage. It is about the active cultivation of self-compassion.

It includes educational information, training in mindfulness and compassion-focused meditation, compassion-based activities and skills, group discussion, as well as complementary creative creative activities such as writing and collage. You will be asked to practice the exercises you are learning each week regularly in between sessions and will be provided with print materials, as well as audio recordings of meditations to support your practice.
