Register Now for "Enhancing Wellness Through Mindfulness & Self-Compassion: A Five-Week Introductory Course". May 28th to June 25th, 2012!

The gardens at the IC headquarters are looking beautiful right now as I write to you on a sunny May morning. I am excited to announce the above upcoming program I will be offering beginning later this month in which you will have the opportunity to spend some time in the gardens here if you’d like, as well as being inside. Think of this as a fitness class for your soul and mind!

In this introductory class, you will learn some principles and activities from mindfulness-based and compassion-focused approaches to help you enhance your feelings of wellness, to cope better with stress, and to support you having a healthy way of relating to yourself.

In addition to being guided in-class, you agree to practice the activities for 5 to 20 minutes outside of class a minimum of four additional times per week.

Activities taught and practiced will include guided meditations, visualizations, and guided writing exercises. These are drawn from Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction programs pioneered by Jon Kabat-Zinn and Compassionate Mind Training pioneered by psychologist, Paul Gilbert.

Dates: Mondays, May 28th to June 25th, 2012; 4:45 p.m. to 6 p.m.
