Summer is a time for renewal. Registration is now open for July’s Enhancing Wellness Through Mindfulness & Self-Compassion Program (Series One)

Summer is a natural time for slowing down one’s pace, for relaxation, for reflection, and for personal and professional renewal. This July, I will be offering series one of IC’s burgeoning program, Enhancing Wellness Through Mindfulness & Self-Compassion. To accommodate interest in the course, we will be located at a more spacious location this time among a pond, birds, and woods just north of the 401 in Kingston. Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?

Details:

In this introductory program (series one), you will learn some principles and activities from mindfulness-based and compassion-focused approaches to helping you enhance feelings of wellness, your ability to cope with stress, and to support you having a healthy way of relating to yourself.

In addition to being guided in-class, you agree to practice the activities for 5 to 40 minutes outside of class a minimum of four additional times per week. The more you are able to commit to practicing, the more benefits you are likely to derive.

The program includes guided meditations, visualizations, writing exercises, and group discussion. These are drawn from Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction programs pioneered by Jon Kabat-Zinn and Compassionate Mind Training pioneered by psychologist, Paul Gilbert.
